ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System (FSMS)

It is the responsibility of all food processors and producers, to ensure that the food they supply is safe for consumption. Becoming certified to ISO 22000: 2018 demonstrates this responsibility.

Why is Food Safety Management Important to You?

Consuming unsafe food can have very serious impact on the health of customers.  This impacts the company’s brand and market access.  Though there have been marked improvement in food safety and standard over the last decade, unfortunately the level of food safety incidence have not seen a significant change.

A food safety management system is one way that a food business operator can demonstrate their commitment to their business, customers and other stakeholders.   ISO 22000 Food Safety Management system standard allows an organization to identify and control food safety hazards. Being certified to this standard, gives your company international recognition. This, in turn, increases your competitive advantage which can lead to increased sales. This international standard can be implemented by any organization regardless of size, complexity or position in the food chain.

The National Certification Body of Jamaica, NCBJ, offers certification to ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
