1. What is ISO 22000?

ISO 22000 is a food safety management system (FSMS) that outlines food safety requirements for any organization in the food chain.

2. Who can implement ISO 22000?

Any organization in the food chain regardless of the size and complexity of their operations.

3.  Why do you need ISO 22000?

As a food producer, processor or distributor, being certified to ISO 22000 will be enable you to demonstrate your ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that food is safe for consumption.

4.  What is the difference between an accredited certification versus an unaccredited certification?

Accredited ISO certification or, to be more precise, certification by an accredited certification body, means that an independent certification body, recognized by an independent accreditation body, issued a certificate to provide written assurance of compliance. While, ISO Certified means there is an independent certification body provides written assurance of compliance with the specific ISO standard.  Click here to see more

5. What are the steps to getting certified?

Main steps in the certification process, after standard has been implemented, are application, payment, initial assessment (stage 1 and stage 2), certification decision and annual assessment.

6.  How long is the certification for?

The certification cycle lasts for three years. First year is the initial assessment; stage 1 and stage 2 audits, second and third years are surveillance audits after which a recertification audit is done and new cycle begins.
