The National Certification Body of Jamaica

The National Certification Body of Jamaica (NCBJ) established in 2007 offers certification services to companies in Jamaica and the Wider Caribbean. Additionally, the NCBJ is accredited by the United States based ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), to offer certification to ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Our accredited certification services include pre-assessments certification audits and transfers to ISO 9001:2015 and/or ISO 22000:2018. 

Our Mission

The National Certification Body of Jamaica will provide affordable management system certification activities and other certification services within Jamaica and the wider Caribbean through committed and competent personnel and a certification decision process based on impartiality.

Accredited Certification

The NCBJ is accredited by the United States based ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), to ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 for providing audits and certifications of management systems in accordance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Our accredited certification services include pre-assessments, certification audits and transfers to ISO 9001:2015.

The NCBJ is accredited to certify companies anywhere in the world and local companies which are certified by the NCBJ are able to compete globally based on the international recognition of ISO 9001.

National Certification

The NCBJ also offers four (4) National Programmes and one (1) Authorization Programme. The programmes are designed to enhance production efficiencies and export potential while providing attestation of quality products and services.

The NCBJ ensures that its process of certification is credible primarily by making decisions of a company’s certification based only on sufficient objective evidence that the company’s management system conforms to the requirements of the relevant standard (in this case, ISO 9001 and/or ISO 22000). The NCBJ also ensures that adequate controls are in place to reduce threats to impartiality and conflict of interest in certification activities.

The NCBJ ensures its efforts are supported by experienced and staff, competent auditors and technical experts who undertake work on behalf of the Body.

As a critical player in Jamaica’s National Quality Infrastructure, the NCBJ plays an important role, working closely with players in the manufacturing and service industries across the public and private sectors. The NCBJ works with micro, small and medium-sized enterprises as well as large businesses.
